Asthma is the recurrent attacks of
breathlessness, tightness in the chest and wheezing. The severity of cases has

fish and pungent fruit and vegetables to cure asthma.

helps in different ways to cure asthma. Different food items help to cure
inflammation, thin out mucous and enhance our immunity to fight allergies.

1 Humble Bulbs –
Onions are very beneficial to treat asthma. We cannot underestimate the power
of this humble bulb in various diseases. Especially in asthma onions has been
found out to be helpful in treating inflammation of the respiratory tract.
Onion
has three strong inflammatory substances to cure asthma. One of the anti
inflammatory compounds diphenylthiosufinate has been found to be more potent
than the anti-inflammatory drug prednisolone.
Garlic
and onions have quercetin which is an antibiotic and prevents the release of
histamine through the inflamed membranes. So these help to cure asthma.
2 Hot spicy food –
Hot spicy and pungent food like chili, capsicum, garlic is helpful to cure
asthma. Hot chilies are mucokinetic i.e. they help to thin out the mucus.

Fish is an excellent remedy to keep asthma away. Fish eaters are found to be

tubes in asthma. We can take fish oil capsules also to cure asthma.

Coffee drinking helps to cure asthma. It opens up bronchiole tubes. So it is
good to drink coffee in emergency times in asthma.
5 Is milk safe –
Milk and milk products should be avoided by asthmatic patients. As milk
proteins promotes the production of mucus, so avoid milk, cheese, paneer, curd
to get relief from asthma.
6 Chinese restaurant syndrome –
Consuming Chinese food causes tightness in chest, headache and sweating in some
people. These symptoms may appear after few hours or many hours after the
consumption of Chinese food. So it is difficult to find out whether it is a
reason for asthma or not. So please avoid Chinese food if you are allergic to
it.
7 Vegetables and fruit –
Vegetables and fruits have important phytochemicals and are rich of vitamin C.
These increase the resistance of body against the allergies.
Vitamin C also
cures symptoms of asthma and makes breathing easier. It metabolizes the
histamine released from cell membrane and thus prevents inflammation.
8 Animal food –
Asthma patients should avoid meat, egg, milk and other animal products. As
animal food increases the inflammation of bronchiole tubes. So its consumption
should be restricted.
SOME WAYS TO TREAT ASTHMA
1. Consume
onion, garlic and ginger, the anti-inflammatory food so that the inflammation
of the bronchioles is cured and also prevents further inflammation. Thus curing
asthma.
2. Avoid
omega 6 fatty acids rich oils. As these cause inflammation. They also reduce
the effect of anti inflammatory food. So these are not good for asthma.
3. We
can drink coffee in emergency, when we are having asthma attack. Two to three
cups of black coffee can be consumed if you have no problem with coffee.
4. Avoid
any food items which can trigger asthma attack in you.
5. Increase
intake of hot peppers and spicy food. As these are mucokinetic and make
breathing easier in asthma.
6. Avoid
meat and other animal products except fish to cure asthma.
7. Avoid
negative emotions like anger, depression, stress and anxiety. As these will
trigger asthma.
8. Light
exercise, breathing exercise, dry weather and fresh air will help to cure this
ailment.
