friends, today we will discuss how to treat acne at home. Acne can flare up any
time in our life. But these trouble teenagers the most at the time when they
are very much concerned about their physical appearance.
At
this point of time, hormones are considered the foremost reason for the acne. These
are present in many forms like black heads pimples with white material oozing
out from them or boil.
The glands under the skin secrete white wax
like substance. This is called white head. Soon it turns into black head
because of the melanin hormone present in the skin.
Due
to bacterial activity it can turn into big pustules with pus and blood in it.
Thus acne can turn a pretty face into ugly duckling. Acne can be present on
forehead, cheeks, chin, neck, and chest or on whole body.
There
can be different reasons which can cause acne.

Acne can be due to faulty diet i e more of
sugar, starches, fried and fatty food.

Constipation can also result in acne. As
toxins are not eliminated out of the body and will spread in the blood stream.
Thus skin gets rid of these toxins in the form of acne.

If both the parents have acne. Then the child
is more prone to have acne.
·
Psychological stress is one of the reasons
resulting in acne.
·
Change in hormones at the time of puberty or before
menstruation or menopause in women.
·
Medications like steroids, epilepsy, tb may
also cause acne.
Remedies
for Acne
Diet –
Diet can be one of the reasons for acne. As faulty diet can lead to
accumulations of toxins in the body. More of sugar, salty and fried food can
alter the level of hormones in the body which can lead to eruptions on the
skin. So avoid junk food and processed food made up of white flour and all the
fast food to keep your skin healthy and to treat acne also.
Sometimes milk can also cause acne. As it has saturated
fat in it. So try to eliminate milk from your diet for some time and see its
effects.
Include low glycemic
index food – Low glycemic index food will control the levels of
hormones in the body. Thus helpful in treating acne. So eat high fiber food i.e. whole grains, fruit and vegetables.
Consume omega 3 fatty
acids – Omega 3 fatty acids controls inflammation and are
beneficial for the good health of the skin. So eat more of walnut, fish, flax seeds and green leafy vegetables to treat acne.
Vitamin A and C–
These vitamins are good for skin. Vitamin A controls the production of sebum in
the gland under the skin. So helpful in treating acne. Carotene found in certain food converts into
vitamin A. Green leafy vegetables, yellow colored fruit and vegetables are rich
in vitamin A. Berries, citrus fruit,
cabbage, capsicum, potato are rich in vitamin C.
Increase Zinc intake –
Zinc has been found to be beneficial for the healthy skin. It fights bacteria
and boost immunity also. Sea food,
poultry, whole grains, milk are rich in zinc. So consume this mineral to treat
acne.
Vitamin B6 –
This vitamin is also beneficial in treating acne. It is found to be implicated
in hormone production thus treating acne. Poultry, sea food, pulses, banana,
potato, nuts are rich in vitamin B6.
Orange peel –
Orange peel is very beneficial to apply on the skin. It is pounded on stone
with water and applied on the skin after washing face with gentle soap.
Lemon –
Lemon is also helpful in treating acne. It is applied after washing face with
soap at night. Wash face next morning with lukewarm water.
Cucumber –
Cucumber is also very effective to treat acne. It helps to clear the skin. Apply grated cucumber on the face, neck or any other part of the body which is effected by acne.
Garlic – Apply
garlic on the skin several times a day. It helps to clear all types of acne. It
also helps to clear the scars. We can also eat three garlic pods to further its
effects to treat acne.
Coriander and mint - Coriander
and mint are also very healthy to treat acne. Pinch of turmeric is added in
their juice and applied on the skin at night after washing face with soap.
Some
more remedies
- Control your stress to treat acne. As stress alters the levels of hormones in the body thus causing acne.
· Do
not use oil based cosmetics products if you have acne problem.
· Wash
your face with gentle soap twice a day to make it dirt free.
· Do exercise
meditation and pranayam to control stress and increase your blood circulation
so that toxins are released out of your body.
· Drink
8 to 10 glasses of water.
