HOW TO TREAT ECZEMA USING HOME REMEDIES
Dear friends, Eczema is the skin condition in which, skin
is inflamed and turns red. Vesicles may develop on the skin and it may rupture
and liquid oozes out of it. It itches all the time especially at night. These patches can be found on face, knees, elbows, wrist or legs.
Eczema may be due to the accumulation of toxins in the
body, faulty metabolism, nutritional deficiencies, hormonal shift, emotional
stress, constipation or due to some allergy. Allergy can be due to egg, peanut,
wheat, oat, milk and milk products.
It can also be due to dust, pollen, hot or
cold temperature or contact with some chemicals.It can be genetically transmitted and patient may have
asthma or hay fever along with it. Eczema is not contagious.
Remedies
to cure Eczema
Check
your essential fatty acids – Friends, there are two types fatty
acids – omega 3 fatty acids and omega 6 fatty acids. We tend to consume more of
omega 6 fatty acids. Actually there is Omega 6 rich oils are safflower,
sunflower and cornflower oils.
Omega 3 fatty acids rich food is walnut, flax seeds and
fish. So we should consume more of omega 3 rich food to treat eczema. These should be consumed in the (omega 6)
4:1(Omega 3) to maintain their proper balance in the body.
For the good health of our skin, nails and hair we need
to consume both the fatty acids in right combination.
Curd –
Curd is found to be beneficial for eczema. We can treat this problem
effectively with the help of curd. As it will increase the number of beneficial
gut bacteria which in turn improve our immunity, treat inflammation and help to
heal the skin.
Fruit
and vegetables – For the health of the good skin fruit and
vegetable are very helpful. As we all know these are rich in vitamins A and C. We can consume yellow colored fruit and
vegetables like carrot, papaya, cherries pear peaches, pineapple etc.
Vitamin D and Selenium are also required. We can also
take multivitamin supplements to fulfill the requirement of these nutrients.
Vegetable
juice – We can have juice of carrot and spinach. 300 ml of
carrot can be mixed with 200 ml of spinach and it can be consumed for few
months. It will help to cure the symptoms of eczema.
Mango –
Mango pulp is boiled in 1 cup of water for half an hour and then it can be
strained and applied on the skin. It is very helpful to cure eczema.
Dietary
management for eczema

Consume green leafy vegetables like spinach,
Methi leaves, Mustard leaves to make up the nutritional deficiency of the body.

Eat different fruit like pineapple, papaya,
mango, orange, pear, peach, grapes etc.
·
Consume high fiber food like whole wheat,
ragi, Bajra to flush out toxins from the body.(If you are not allergic to these
foods.)

Drink 10 to 12 glasses of water.
·
Avoid
the food you are allergic to like eggs, fish, peanuts, wheat or any other.
·
Do not consume white flour and its products,
excessive sugar and fried food. Avoid carbonated drinks and processed and
canned food.
Some
other measures to cure eczema

It is good for eczema patients to be in the
sunlight in the morning hours for 20 to 30 minutes.
·
Fresh air is also beneficial for the fast
recovery. Stay relaxed and do exercise.
·
Wear loose and soft clothes.
·
Take bath with lukewarm water not more than
10 to 15 mts with a mild soap. Wipe and pat dry gently. Moisturize the whole
body immediately after bath to avoid dryness.

Do not scratch the skin with nails
·
If eczema is severe, consult doctor for the
proper treatment with antibiotics and corticosteriods.
